Kathryn “Kay” L. Wood, 74 of Lambertville, MI. passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Monday August 15, 2016. Born February 22, 1942 in Natrona Heights PA., Kay was the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Girt) Schrecker. Kay was a member of Alpha Z sorority at West Virginia Wesleyan College, and completed her baccalaureate degree in elementary education in 1964. Kathryn and Carl R. Wood were married on June 7^th of the same year. Kay was a dedicated teacher throughout her life, starting her career in a one room schoolhouse in rural West Virginia. Kay and Carl Wood owned and operated many businesses including; convenience stores, a coffee service, used furniture and antiques store, and also did expediting until 2015. Kay faithfully attended United Methodist Church of Lambertville, and although Kathryn thoroughly enjoyed studying genealogy and some other hobbies, the focus of her life was her grandchildren Devon and Riley. She was a breast cancer survivor and a pillar of strength for her family. Kay will live on in the hearts and souls of her loving husband of 52 years, her brother Dale Schrecker, and with her children and grandchildren that were so fortunate to have shared her love.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am-1:00 pm Friday August 19,2016 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA in remembrance of Kathryn’s love for animals. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
